The PHEV version boasts a more sophisticated powertrain, featuring a 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv engine complemented by a larger battery and an electric motor for plug-in hybrid capability. This configuration delivers up to 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. It can run solely on electric power for up to 42 km per charge, which is ideal for short commutes and for reducing gasoline consumption.

Mazda CX-70 PHEV
The PHEV excels in fuel efficiency, especially in electric mode. Running purely on electric power, it produces zero emissions and uses no gasoline, offering enough range to travel 42 km. After the battery is depleted, the gas engine's consumption is rated at 9.9 L/100 km for city driving and 8.7 L/100 km on the highway. The battery can be recharged in about 1.5 hours with a Level 2 charger (from 20% to 80%) or overnight using a standard 110V outlet.

Both vehicles boast a high-end interior with top-quality materials and cutting-edge technology. However, the CX-70 MHEV offers a wider selection of trims, including GS-L, GT, GT-P, and the exclusive Signature trim. In contrast, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV is available only in GS-L and GT trims, meaning certain features, like those in the Signature trim, are unique to the MHEV version.

The MHEV model features a refined and practical interior, comfortably accommodating five passengers. Despite including a mild hybrid system, it doesn't compromise on space, allowing for a substantial cargo area—up to 1,131 litres with the rear seats upright and expanding to 2,147 litres when the seats are folded flat.
Mazda CX-70 PHEV
The PHEV models have added standard features, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in the GS-L trim. However, the interior design and equipment lineup largely mirror the MHEV versions. Cargo space remains unchanged between the two, even with the PHEV's larger battery and powertrain.
